When it comes to web hosting, again there are many companies to choose from and you want to be very careful in your selection.  Here are some items to note when looking for a hosting company:

  • Technical Support – first and foremost you want excellent 24/7 customer service and technical support.  Give the company a trial run by calling in the middle of the night or during peak time to see if you can get through and get a question answered.

  • Disc Space & Bandwidth - when it comes to Internet marketing, we can use a lot of disc space and bandwidth for our graphics, audios, videos, downloads, and shopping carts.  Especially because we as Internet marketers have several sites going at one time.  Make sure you get enough disc space and bandwidth for your business.

  • Uptime - it won’t do you any good to have a hosting company that is down all the time – meaning so will your website be down.  There will be down time on rare occasions and this is for system mainenance. What you want to do is insure you minimize this by selecting a good company that has a solid track record. The industry standard is 99% uptime, however most hosting companies will offer more.  Look for 99.9% when considering the uptime.
